The 30th president of the United States. A republican lawyer from Vermont. He eventually became the governor of Massachusetts. He was soon elected as Vice President under Warren Harding and gained power of the office after the death of Harding. He restored the public's confidence in the White House. He was renominated in 1924 but withdrew from the campaign when his son died because of an infected blister. President during the Roaring Twenties; a period of rapid economic growth. He appointed commissioners to the Federal Trade Commission and the Interstate Commerce Commission.
