He was the oldest person to take office and he died on his 32nd day in office because he got pneumonia from giving such a long inaugural speech. He served as the first territorial congressional delegate from the Northwest, governor of Indian territory, and as U.S. representative and senator of Ohio. He lead the forces in the Battle of Tippecanoe and the Battle of the Thames.
