She accompanied Lewis and Clark on their expedition. She was an interpreter and a guide for them, traveling thousands of miles between 1804 and 1806. She was married at the age of 13 and was pregnant with her first child when the Corps of Discovery showed up near her village for the winter. Both her and her husband entered the expedition and she gave birth to her baby during the trip. The last account of her existence was in Clark's notes where he wrote a list of everyone on the expedition and their last whereabouts, her's saying dead.
