An American soldier, revolutionary, farmer. Most famous for being the leader of Shays' rebellion. Entered the local militia during the American Revolution and fought in The Battle of Bunker Hill, The Battle of Lexington, and The Battle of Saratoga. After being wounded, he resigned without pay and later got a pension from the government because he fought without pay. He was in poverty the last few years of his life and became a heavy drinker and died in Sparta, New York.
